This is a typical good luck charm hung outside shops in Old Delhi. They are composed of a black thread (always black, or sometimes dark blue) strung with 7 chilies separated by one lemon. Shopkeepers will often replace them daily before the start of business, or have them renewed by people in the neighbourhood who might also deliver the morning paper, or chai. And is there a reason or story behind the 7 chilies & lemon as to why it brings luck?
Beautiful shot. You seem to be having fun with the new camera.
